AutoCAD practice exercises
AutoCAD practice drawings for beginners and up, in 2D, isometric and 3D, each solved step by step and opened with its drawing in a free online editor.
Drawings to practise AutoCAD on, from a first gasket to 3D solids, each with its dimensions, the commands it practises and its solution step by step. The engine draws every step and writes its command-line history as you will type it: the prompts in AutoCAD 2027's order, with the same option letters. Open one in the editor and its drawing is there beside the space where you draw yours, in your browser, with nothing to install and no account to make.

Step-by-step guides
The exercises' skills one at a time: typing points, a house's floor plan, a 2D drawing turned into a solid. Each guide shows every step's drawing and its history.
- AutoCAD coordinates: How to type points in AutoCAD: absolute, relative and polar coordinates, a line of a given length at an angle, and polar tracking. Practise them free online.
- How to draw a floor plan in AutoCAD: How to draw a house's floor plan in AutoCAD: walls with OFFSET, an inner wall, openings cut with TRIM, doors with their swing, windows and dimensions.
- From 2D to 3D in AutoCAD: How to turn a 2D drawing into a 3D solid in AutoCAD: extrude, press pull and revolve a closed profile, add and subtract. Free online 3D solids, still partial.
How the exercises work
An exercise opens in the editor with its drawing, dimensioned, left of the origin: draw yours from 0,0, as its solution does. What you draw is kept in this browser for that exercise alone. The drawing you were working on stays as it was, and the editor opened on its own brings it back. To start an exercise again, run NEW, then open it from its page. Every page prints on its own, the drawing first and the steps after, and your browser's print dialog saves it as a PDF.
Questions
Where can I find AutoCAD exercises to practise?
Here: each exercise has its drawing dimensioned, the commands it practises and its solution step by step, and opens in a free editor that works like AutoCAD, in the browser. Start with the beginner ones; each command they use leads to what it does and the options it asks for.
Can I practise AutoCAD online for free?
Yes. MellowCAD runs in the browser, free and with no account: you type AutoCAD's commands and aliases, in your language's names, and answer their prompts in the same order, with the same option letters. It is not AutoCAD: it opens DXF files but cannot save them or open DWG yet, and its 3D solids are still partial.
Do the exercises have solutions?
Every exercise is solved step by step under its drawing. The engine draws each step and writes the command line's history, so you can compare yours with it line by line.
Can I print the exercises or save them as a PDF?
Yes. An exercise's page prints on its own, dark lines on white, the drawing first and the steps after, and your browser's print dialog saves it as a PDF.
